2. Planting Your Order: Purchases & Payments

2.1 Product Information & Descriptions

We offer a curated selection of living plants and gardening essentials, including Rare Plants, Tropical Indoor Plants, Succulents & Cacti, Pet-Friendly Plants, Kokedama, Pots & Planters, Garden Tools, and more. Each product is described as accurately as possible. However, as living organisms, plants may vary slightly in size, shape, or color. We reserve the right to update descriptions, prices, and availability without prior notice.

2.2 Ordering & Payment

When you place an order, you are making an offer to purchase under these Terms. We accept payment via Visa, MasterCard, JCB, and PayPal. Your order is confirmed only once payment is authorized and we send an order confirmation email. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order due to errors, stock limitations, or suspected fraud.

2.3 Pricing & Shipping Costs

Prices are listed in US dollars. Shipping costs are as follows:

  • Standard Shipping: $12.95 via DHL or FedEx.
  • Free Shipping: Available on orders over $50, shipped via EMS.

You are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, or fees imposed by your country.

3. Nurturing the Journey: Shipping & Delivery

3.1 Processing & Delivery Times

Each order is handpicked and packed with care. Please allow 1–2 business days for order processing. Delivery estimates are:

  • Standard Shipping: 10–15 business days after shipment.
  • Free Shipping: 15–25 business days after shipment.

These are estimates. As plants are living beings, transit times may vary due to customs, weather, or seasonal conditions. We ship globally but exclude some remote regions and parts of Asia.

3.2 Risk & Ownership

Risk of loss or damage passes to you upon delivery. Ownership of the goods transfers once full payment is received.

4. Your Responsibilities as a Plant Parent

By purchasing from us, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate shipping and contact information.
  • Inspect your plants upon delivery and notify us of any transit-related issues within 48 hours.
  • Provide appropriate post-delivery care, as we cannot accept returns for plants that decline due to environment, care practices, or natural seasonal cycles.
  • Use the website only for lawful purposes and not attempt to disrupt its functionality.

5. Returns, Exchanges & Refunds: Rooted in Satisfaction

5.1 Policy Overview

We stand behind our plants and products. You may request a return or exchange within 15 days of receiving your order. Items must be in original condition with packaging, and plants must show reasonable signs of viability.

5.2 How to Initiate a Return/Exchange

  1. Email [email protected] within the 15-day window with your order number and details.
  2. We will provide a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and instructions.
  3. Pack the item securely with the RMA on the box and ship it to our nursery address.
  4. Once inspected, we will process your refund or exchange within 5–7 business days.

5.3 Refunds

Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 5–7 business days after we receive and approve the return. Original shipping costs are non-refundable. For exchanges, we cover standard shipping for the replacement.

5.4 Non-Returnable Items

To protect our community and product integrity, we cannot accept returns for:

  • Final Sale items.
  • Personalized or used items (e.g., custom Pots & Planters, used Garden Tools).
  • Digital Bookstore content once accessed/downloaded.
  • Live plants that arrived healthy but perished due to post-delivery care or environmental factors.
  • Opened bags of soil or fertilizers.

6. Limitation of Liability

House Plant Shop shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or products, including but not limited to plant loss due to improper care, acts of nature, or transit delays beyond our control. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the purchase price of the product in question.
